          Jonzac is a town in southwestern France, located in the Charente region.           Jonzac is a sub-prefecture of the Charente-Maritime department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France. It is located approximately 60 kilometres south of Saintes, 80 kilometres northeast of Bordeaux, and sits within the Haute-Saintonge area, a territory historically associated with Cognac production and Romanesque ecclesiastical architecture along the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela.
