          Bourg-Saint-Maurice is a commune in the Savoie department of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of southeastern France, situated at approximately 840 metres altitude in the Tarentaise Valley where the Isere River originates. It serves as the principal valley base for the Les Arcs ski domain and a key access point to the Vanoise National Park, the oldest national park in France. The town is positioned near the Col du Petit Saint-Bernard border crossing with Italy and is a recognized stop on the GR5 long-distance hiking trail.
