More to know about Bay of Kotor

The Bay of Kotor is a coastal inlet in southern Dalmatia, Montenegro, located along the Adriatic Sea. Often called the southernmost fjord of Europe, it features steep limestone cliffs, medieval stone villages, and the fortified town of Kotor with its centuries-old walls. Visitors explore historic town centers on foot, hike mountain trails, and take boat tours through the sheltered bay waters.
The Bay of Kotor is a natural harbour system located in southwestern Montenegro, Southeastern Europe, bordering the Adriatic Sea. It is classified as a drowned river canyon rather than a true fjord and is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Natural and Culturo-Historical Region of Kotor. The bay encompasses four interconnected inlets spanning approximately 87 square kilometres, with the innermost point occupied by the medieval city of Kotor.
