          More to know about Bale

Bale is a small hilltop village in Istria, northwestern Croatia, overlooking the Adriatic Sea and surrounding vineyards. The village features medieval stone architecture and narrow winding streets characteristic of Istrian towns. Visitors explore the historic core on foot, visit the local church, and sample regional wines and truffle-based dishes at family-run restaurants and wine bars.
Bale (Italian: Valle) is a small hilltop municipality in central-western Istria, Croatia, located approximately 10 kilometers southeast of Rovinj at an elevation of around 90 meters above sea level. The settlement has origins in pre-Roman times and preserves a well-defined medieval fortified core known as the Castrum Vallis, shaped by successive Venetian, Habsburg, and Italian administrations before Croatian integration. The surrounding landscape is characteristic Istrian karst, supporting viticulture, olive cultivation, and truffle-bearing oak and pine woodland.
