Ithaca is a small island in the Ionian Sea, western Greece, covering approximately 96 square kilometers. It belongs to the Ionian Islands regional unit and is administratively part of Kefalonia-Ithaca. The island is widely identified in classical scholarship as the Homeric homeland of Odysseus, and several archaeological sites across the island have been associated with locations described in the Odyssey.
