Bovec ist eine kleine Stadt in Nordwestslowenien in der Region Tolmin in der Nähe der Julischen Alpen. Bovec is a municipality and settlement in the Goriška region of northwest Slovenia, situated within the Soča Valley at approximately 450 metres above sea level. It lies within the buffer zone of Triglav National Park and borders Italy to the west via the Predil and Mangart passes. The area falls within the broader Julian Alps system and is recognised for its high concentration of outdoor recreation assets centred on the Soča River, a protected watercourse noted for its distinctive mineral-turquoise colouration.
