Chatillon-sur-Marne is a commune in the Marne department of the Grand Est region in northeastern France, situated on a promontory above the Marne River valley approximately 25 kilometers west of Epernay. The village falls within the Champagne wine appellation area and is surrounded by premier cru classified vineyards. It is noted historically as the probable birthplace of Pope Urban II, commemorated by a large nineteenth-century statue. The area forms part of the UNESCO-recognized Champagne Hillsides, Houses, and Cellars World Heritage Site inscribed in 2015.
