          Godafoss ist ein Wasserfall im Norden Islands, bekannt für seine dramatische Hufeisen-Form und seine mächtige Fallkaskade. Der Name bedeutet "Wasserfall der Götter" auf Isländisch. Der Wasserfall liegt an der Ringstraße und stürzt etwa 12 Meter in eine von Gletscherschmelzwasser gegrabene Schlucht ab. Besucher wandern zu Aussichtspunkten für Fotografie und beobachten die rohe geothermische Landschaft rund um den Wasserfall.
          Godafoss is located in the Bardardalur valley of northeastern Iceland, situated directly on Route 1 (the Ring Road) approximately 50 kilometers east of Akureyri and 50 kilometers west of Lake Myvatn. The waterfall is part of the Diamond Circle, a popular touring route in north Iceland encompassing Lake Myvatn, Dettifoss, Husavik, and Asbyrgi Canyon. The Skjalfandafljot River, one of Iceland's longest, feeds the falls before continuing south through the interior highlands.
